read this carefully before you install: ----------------------------------------------------- 1. Extract the EXE file 2. Run setup.exe in the extracted directory. 3. The setup will give you errors, choose Ignore for all of them. 4. Go into safe mode by pressing F8 when the computer starts, then choosing Safe Mode. 5. Copy kstvtuner.ax file to \windows\system32 overwriting the file in the same name already there. 6. Restart regulary. 7. Run setup again, choose repair. 8. Enjoy TV in windows XP (with a voodoo 3500, hahahaha!), now you have both TV AND 3dfxTools. now, who said voodoo was dead? JonathanS. (-=IceTea=-) Tips: you may have to down 1 mhz in all the channels to see the something, it's a bug in win2k and winXP. Credits: Omegadrive for the optimizations (i used his drivers). HoE for the fixed glide drivers that make glide work in windowsXP fuck Xpentor ""the big optimizers"" for their fucking rip of my drivers and the fix for the TV, plain fucking copiers, that's what they are, and they didn't even give me any credit. fuck them!!! ----------------------------------------------------- Additional Info's and Details to Problems not originally included into the Instructions.txt (sorted and summarized from www.voodoofiles.com Feedback system) - use of this Driver with Non-US Systems From : Jonathan Seidner Hi, as for you question about the non-us version. they are. i made this drivers so that they work on all versions of windows. they are designed especially for XP. i live in israel, so i''m out of the US and it works for me (after all, that''s why i made the drivers for guys, cause i got it to work). so you shouldn''t have any problems. good luck. TO STEVE: i''m glad it worked for you. as for what you said, that''s just a glitch in your system, as you can see nobody else (including myself) had this problem. TO LOTSMARKS: that''s bullshit, if it works for you then you were just lucky and the files must''ve been not replaced when you updated to windows xp, that could be one cause for it''s working. it''s a fact that i, and many other people tried these drivers first and only as a last resort came to voodoofiles.com to seek for drivers that actually WORK. cheers. - VisualReality related Problems From : Jonathan Seidner People, first of all make sure you use the latest visualreality (that's version 3.10.06). as for sound problems: firstly: use the audio assistant to configurate the sound. if that doesn't work choose 'auxliary' manually (it should be that in most cases). if that doesn't work change the 'audio fall back' options, check what works for you. good luck. - NTSC to PAL-M or PAL-N Q : Felipe Hi, tanks a lot for this drivers. But for the Non-US Users it's dificult to get a good result. I'm from Brasil (PAL-M system) and I only see black and white images in NTSC, could you help us? PS (sorry for my bad english) A : Jonathan Seidner why not just change to PAL-M. it's not deasigned to operate in thse US or in a NON-US country. it should work everywhere. I, which prepared the drivers, live in israel, it's PAL-N here. just pick PAL-M from the list (make sure you use the latest visualreality) and NOT NTSC. why did you pick NTSC if you said you use PAL-M in brasil??? good luck - Alternative/supplemental Installation Help From : J2 I found this driver to work great after I figured out the VR installation. Just here to help someone out not to take away from this great driver. Added the following: 1. Extract the EXE file 2. Run setup.exe in the extracted directory. 3. The setup will give you errors, overwrite files and choose Ignore for all of them. 4. Go into safe mode by pressing F8 when the computer starts, then choosing Safe Mode. 5. Copy kstvtuner.ax file to \windows\system32 overwriting the file in the same name already there. 6. Restart regulary. 7. Run setup again, choose repair. 8. Found New Hardware Wizard will start, point it to the driver2K folder that was added by the extraction utility wiyh the setup. 9. Install VR 3.10.06 10. Enjoy TV in windows XP (with a voodoo 3500, hahahaha!), now you have both TV AND 3dfxTools. A : jonathan seidner j2's instructions might help you, i just took it for granted that you should point the installation to the driver directory. j2's instructions are what you're missing... i forgot to tell the part he said to point it to the directory of the driver. good luck, Jonathan. - TV Device Fail / Not loaded or present / Driver not Installed error Messages From : ASY Drivers might not install the actual TV Device. Suggested fix: 1. Install Drivers. 2. Reboot. 3. If upon reboot XP says it found unknown device, select ADVANCED and point it to the DRIVERS folder from this archive. Select drivers at this location. If XP did not prompt for new hardware go to device management and it should be under Sound Video..Controllers. Right click and say update driver. 4. Reboot in safe mode and continue as previously instructed. --- Good work on this driver hack. A+ From : adidaspy If anyone is still getting the "TV drivers not installed, insert CDROM etc." after you follow all the steps, this is what you do. Go to 'control panel' > 'system' > 'device manager'. If an icon under 'sound and multimedia' has a yellow mark on it, go to its properties menu and update the driver. direct it to the "driver2k" folder extracted earlier. TV now works! -----------------------------------------------------
